At the start of each panel session, panel organizers and speakers are always looking for help with getting their panel/workshop set up. What this usually means? Help with the computer and projector. This shift will involve doing just that at the beginning of sessions 3 (and wrap up).
This is a shift that does involve the need to be a little bit comfortable with basic computer skills. Nothing too snazzy (really!) but you will need to be able to advise panelists when they ask for help with tasks like turning on the computer, turning on the projector, plugging in their flash drive, etc. And that's as complicated as it gets!
For the basic day to day computer user, it is really quite simple stuff - not to mention you will receive a training at the beginning of your shift and will not be responsible for any troubleshooting beyond these basic tasks. And don't worry! Should something not be functioning as it should, you will have a back up contact to call to the room.
Though this is nothing complicated, if you are not interested in being on your feet nor do you consider yourself "basic-tech-comfortable", this would not be the best fit.
